Monkey tree; now that’s a puzzle!

Today's title should be taken literally as a Monkey Tree is also known as a Monkey Puzzle tree. Inspiration for this slight nod to humour occurs on this Wood Monkey day due to the Yang Wood in today's sign. This symbolises a great tree, with its roots in the earth, its leaves in heaven and its beauty for mankind to benefit from. Many ancient civilisations and teachings share this philosophy and in Chinese astrology it can also symbolise the “luck trinity”, said to unite mankind with heaven and earth.

On the subject of luck the Chinese almanac suggests travelling, having a haircut, getting married, buying or making clothes, emigrating, signing contracts and trading, moving earth, fixing a roof, planting, or setting up a tombstone as suitable activities.

We will return tomorrow on a Wood Rooster day, until then enjoy NOW!
